The Senate of the University of Bucarest awarded a Professor Honoris Causa to Stefan Bratosin, Professor Exceptional Class at the University Paul-Valéry of Montpellier and director of IARSIC-CTS (CORHIS EA 7400), in ceremonies on June 24, 2015.
This title represents the recognition of a complex and rich academic career at international level. At the ceremony, Stefan Bratosin gave an honorary lecture on journalism. He stressed the urgent need for journalism today renewing itself by seeking mediation as a remedy against the desymbolization of the public sphere where it was and still is preserved, especially, in the communities more or less closed of our cultural heritage, as undoubtedly and without any democratic deficit, not everything can be public and immediate. Mediation convenes secret, but without secret the public has no political meaning.
